Priya Sunkara | Senior Attorney
Priya is a Senior Attorney who manages the firm's active litigation alongside Symone. Priya holds a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University. Priya earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she focused on the intersection of law and neuroscience.
Like Symone, Priya began her career at nationally recognized commercial litigation firms where she defended major companies from high-profile lawsuits. This experience provided her with valuable insight into how institutional defendants evaluate their liability, structure defense narratives, and limit their accountability through strategic and procedural tactics.
Earlier in her career, Priya conducted research involving geriatric populations, an experience that deepened her understanding of vulnerability, cognitive capacity, and the long-term human consequences of institutional neglect and abuse. That research sharpened her ability to interact with vulnerable populations and to understand biopsychosocial factors affecting their trajectories.
Together, Priya's institutional expertise in defending companies and her experience serving vulnerable populations empower her to both effectively and compassionately serve the Firm's survivors of sexual abuse. Priya considers it a privilege to take care of survivors while simultaneously demonstrating the strength and resilience necessary to fight against the aggressive tactics often employed by companies in litigation that are designed to exhaust and undermine worthy Plaintiffs.
Meet Priya
Her Approach
Priya understands that institutions use sophisticated legal strategies designed to exhaust and silence survivors, and she refuses to let that happen. Drawing on her background defending major corporations, she anticipates their tactics before they deploy them and builds cases strong enough to withstand aggressive opposition. Her neuroscience training and research with vulnerable populations inform how she interacts with clients, recognizing the cognitive and emotional toll of litigation while providing the strategic strength needed to secure justice against powerful defendants who count on survivors giving up.
